  • I've have been making websites and other multimedia since 2000.
  • After a few years learning internet technology while still employed elsewhere, I went freelance in 2003, and have since made quite a few websites for clients ranging from arts and media through to charities, the auto industry and sales campaigns.
  • In 2006 I was happy to graduate with an MSc in Multimedia Systems (Distinction) from London Metropolitan University, and have gone on to become a Lecturer in their CCTM department, Multimedia Subject Area. Here's my staff webpage.
  • Over the past year, work projects have included website video work for a national sports agency and lecturing in various aspects of Multimedia, including Flash, Audio and Video, Dreamweaver, web admin, Illustrator and Photoshop. Technologies used include Premiere, QuickTime Pro, SoundForge, Audacity, Cool Edit Pro (now Audition), Fruity Loops, Flash, MySQL and PHP, CSS, HTML, XHTML, Javascript and some XML.
  • New areas of work and study have mainly centred around dynamic FLASH using XML, or with MySQL and PHP, working with gaming and databases with Flash.
  • I continue to work with open source technology including ecommerce and user/member interactivity, online publishing and content management.
  • Video is fast taking over the web, and I'm now working with all the main formats,including FLV, QuickTime, RealMedia, Avi and even wmv.
  • Syndicated content [RSS/XML] is also a current ongoing area of interest. Building specific feeds, sites that generate their own feeds, feed syndicated content to web pages, or advising on the best readers available. Creating fresh content is vital to most web traffic.
  • SEO [Search Engine Optimization] is a big area, but the basics of getting the search 'spiders' to see your site by using a few simple procedures, and keeping a close eye on results can be done.
